December Edit
Hi friends!
Happy December! There’s a crisp chill in the air here in Dallas, and I am living for the cozy winter moments. As we step into the holiday season and close out the year, I always get a little nostalgic. Writing these monthly edits brings me so much joy, but sometimes I worry that I focus too heavily on the material side of life. With this month’s edit, I wanted to still highlight holiday style staples while shifting some attention inward… let’s call it an internal edit.
December (Internal) Edit
Part of my intention behind this internal edit is to look back on the last eleven months and really acknowledge how I’ve grown — and how I want to grow going into the new year. December is always a time of reflection for me as I think about the ways the Lord has developed me and shaped me to look more like Him.
This month, I’m committing to intentionally reflecting on each month of the year and noting the moments I saw the Lord show up — in my attitude, finances, friendships, marriage, and daily rhythms. It’s easy to overlook the small things, but the details matter.
I’m also spending the next 31 days cultivating habits I can bring with me into the new year — not just surface-level “resolutions.” If you know me, you know movement is a nonnegotiable in my routine. Being active helps my overall well-being, and if you’re looking for an accessible way to incorporate daily movement, let me introduce you to FORM by Sami Clarke! FORM offers pilates, strength training, gym workouts, prenatal/postnatal classes, recipes, and more all in one place. I’ve used it for over a year and truly can’t recommend it enough for creating sustainable wellness habits.
Another part of my internal edit is practicing thoughtful giving — not just giving gifts on Christmas, but giving in small, meaningful ways to people who may not be on your usual list. Giving cultivates the warmest, most selfless joy. This year, I’m planning to make little baskets for my neighbors and their kids (and dogs!) to wish them a Merry Christmas. It doesn’t need to be fancy — thrifted baskets, homemade goodies, and a handwritten card go a long way. Simple, easy, thoughtful.
As I’m writing this, I’m considering making this “internal edit” a little series on social media. If you want to follow along or join me, you can find me on Instagram & TikTok!
Holiday Style Staples
OKAY — now to the festive style fun! December has so many holiday outfit opportunities: Christmas Eve looks, family gatherings, winter weddings, holiday parties… you name it. I can’t wait to style them all!
This month’s color palette:
black + cherry red and navy + deep green with hints of gold.
These combos feel timeless, rich, and instantly festive.
December is the perfect balance of cozy and chic. For all the curled-up-on-the-couch moments with hot cocoa and nostalgic movies, you cannot go wrong with a matching set. Whether it’s a cute pajama set or a luxe loungewear moment, sets make you feel effortlessly put together — even at home.
On the flip side: cocktail attire season. A December staple for me is a black, shiny mini cocktail dress paired with a classy heel and a glass of champagne in hand. I love dresses that have a fun, unexpected detail — feathers, subtle sequins, or a unique texture that feels elevated without being over the top. And to finish off the look? Red or deep green nails. Absolute chef’s kiss for holiday style.
As we wrap up the year, my hope is that this December Edit inspires you to embrace both the internal growth and the external joy this season brings. Style is fun — and I love it! — but this month, I’m holding space for reflection, intentional habits, thoughtful giving, and savoring the small, sacred moments. Here’s to a cozy, festive, meaningful December. I’m so grateful to have you here! If you want to see more content on my internal edit, follow my Instagram & Tiktok! November Edit
Hi friends!
It’s crazy how fast the fall is flying! I feel like once we hit the -ber months, the year feels like it's almost over… But that’s not what this blog post is about! This blog post is all about November fall fashion, Thanksgiving staples, & fall to winter transitional styling tips.
Welcome to the November Edit - curated by What’s Em Style!
The color scheme for November is giving fall transition meets New York classy (!!!). Think crisp air, navy knits, silver accents, and a hint of tortoise shell sophistication. The vibe? Effortless chic that looks like you just stepped out of a Soho coffee shop but could just as easily fit in at a cozy family dinner. Key colors for November include: navy, cream, and silver, with tortoise shell as the pattern of the month. Any combination of these tones complement one another to bring about that refined, elegant spin on fall style that doesn’t feel “too Thanksgiving.” It captures the quiet shift from fall to winter—still cozy, still chic, but with just a little more polish.
Why I Love November Style
November style makes me particularly excited because it’s such an underrated month for fashion. It’s like the calm between two holidays—the perfect pause where we can lean into our favorite classic pieces before the sparkle of December takes over. To me, November is a breath of fall fresh air — the month that feels like cashmere sweaters, silver jewelry, and candlelight. This November, I’m focusing this edit on staying true to timeless, chic fall style — back to the basics, Ralph Lauren, quiet luxury energy.
Styling Notes
When curating this Edit, I especially wanted to spotlight navy chunky sweaters, cream-on-white combinations, and subtle embroidered initials. Starting with navy sweaters — they’re the moment. You can’t go wrong with a rich navy knit that feels both structured and cozy. I have yet to meet someone who doesn’t look incredible in navy — it’s universally flattering, like the denim of sweater colors. My current favorites for November are JCrew’s & Kohl’s rolled neck sweaters!
If you know me, you know I am an absolute sucker for white on white, cream on cream, and cream on white. It’s my neutral love language. I will die on the hill of wearing white after Labor Day — it’s just too chic not to. Cream-on-white gives that understated “I’m not trying too hard” look that still photographs beautifully (especially if you’re hosting or traveling for Thanksgiving). Cozy yet elevated, it’s the kind of palette that makes you feel instantly put together. My go-to sweaters right now are from JCrew, Old Navy, Quince, & Target.
Honorable mentions & additions for this month’s edit include tortoise shell accents, headbands as accessories, mini watches, navy nails, & silver shoes. Let’s unpack this – for my birthday, I received Steve Madden’s velcro fur-lined silver shoes & I am obsessed! They’re like walking on clouds — comfortable, warm, and surprisingly easy to style. I’m usually a gold jewelry girl, but there’s something about silver in November that feels refreshing — like the first frost of the season. I am a gold jewelry girl, but I am loving this pop of silver as we transition into the winter months.
Accessories Highlight
And let’s talk accessories: I’ve been loving headbands lately — they’re the perfect pre–ear muff accessory moment (we all know that season is coming). Add in a dainty mini watch or a tortoise clip, and suddenly your outfit looks ten times more intentional. And if you really want to have a little fun — navy nails. I’m telling you, a cream-on-cream outfit with a pop of deep navy polish? Kiss kiss. The perfect finishing touch to November’s classic, chic aesthetic.
There is so much more that could be said! November fashion excites me, & I hope this post made you excited & inspired for November too!! For more content on this November Edit, you can head over to my Instagram & TikTok for inspiration, and my LTK for shopping suggestions & links!

October Edit
Hi friends!
Happy October – objectively, the best month of the year! When the leaves start to transition to the vibrant shades of yellow, orange, and red. When the air has a crisp to it, and the temp drops to the perfect temperature for a sweater & shorts, coffee in hand, sitting on a front porch. Clearly this is my favorite month.
I have recently been on the train of romanticizing my days; obviously not every day is perfect, and this world is broken. Yet, it is fun to find joy in the little things & the pretty things, so why should my month be any different?
Welcome to the October Edit curated by What’s Em Style—a mix of fall fashion 2025 trends, cozy home ideas, and seasonal staples to inspire your everyday life.
Color Scheme for October
This month’s palette feels warm, grounded, and timeless—perfect for everything from cozy nights in to fall outfit inspiration that makes you feel put together without trying too hard.
Chocolate Brown – rich, cozy, and always chic
Taupe – the ultimate neutral layering shade
Dark Olive Green – a nod to nature and fall foliage
Denim Blue – a classic that pairs with everything
Style Staples
With October’s shift in weather, I’m leaning into versatile layers and textures that feel both functional and chic. These are my top October style staples you’ll see everywhere in fall 2025 fashion:
Denim everything. Specifically, I’m envisioning denim button down coded outfits, & Canadian tuxedos for every occasion!
Brown & taupe sweaters. Sweater season is here, and I’m especially excited to wear a rich chocolate brown sweater that is oh so cozy.
Barn jacket. A little outside of my comfort zone, but barn jackets are a fall outerwear trend I could see reappearing in future month edits.
Suede. I’m obsessed with suede right now! I recently pinned the most divine suede jacket and a green suede bucket bag that is to die for.
Parke mockneck. When I imagine myself cozy in October, I’m wearing this sweatshirt! Click here to get one to match :)
Burgundy wine nails. A short manicure in a wine-burgundy shade screams October and ties in perfectly with this year’s fall nail color trends.
Home Must Haves
And because cozy vibes don’t stop at what I’m wearing, I’ve been loving ways to bring October home decor trends into my space. These little swaps can totally transform your fall atmosphere.
Wreath sashes. A fun and simple addition to your front door that makes guests feel instantly welcomed! I’ve been embroidering lots of college football sashes this fall—fill out this form if you’d like one!
The accent color green. Not just a pillow here and there—I’m talking about a comfy green accent chair, a cozy table runner, or a tasteful comforter for your master bed.
Antelope rug. Hands down my favorite purchase this fall! It’s neutral but patterned, adding a subtle statement without overwhelming the room. [Here’s the link to mine!]
A good espresso machine. Because nothing says cozy like a homemade latte on a crisp morning. This one is a dupe for the Breville but way more budget-friendly.
Wrapping It Up
October always feels like a fresh start—the perfect blend of cozy mornings, layered outfits, and evenings spent enjoying the little things. Whether it’s slipping into a suede jacket, curling up with an espresso in hand, or styling your home with this season’s trending accents, this month is all about leaning into comfort and beauty. I hope this October Edit inspires you to embrace the best of fall style and make your home a reflection of all the warmth this season brings. Here’s to a month filled with style, joy, and plenty of cozy moments worth romanticizing.
Is Daily Drills Worth It?
This past week on TikTok, I posted a 7 day series on wearing Daily Drills everyday this week just to see if I could do it with the items that I had in my closet. Here are my two cents on if Daily Drills is worth it based on this challenge…
In short, yes I think this brand is worth it – with some caveats! Daily Drills is a pricier lounge & lifestyle clothing brand started about 4 years ago by Mary Ralph Bradley & Kennedy Crichlow. I feel like this brand is worth it if you buy pieces that can have multipurpose use in your closet and if your personal style fits the brand. What do I mean by this?
Each item can range from $65 to upwards of $150. Thus, every piece you buy is an investment, so invest well. I personally think this brand is worth every penny, but I feel like I have invested in staple pieces that can be worn on more than one occasion. For example, in my TikTok series from this past week, I featured their Striped Cotton Long Sleeve twice – once as a throw over to go to work with their white trucker tee & white jeans, and another as a light casual pullover paired with my denim shorts. In one week, I was able to style one product in two different ways as work attire and casual wear.
To get the most out of this brand, I choose not to purchase on every drop that they have, but instead purchase pieces that I know can be worn in multiple seasons and on multiple occasions. Another example of this would be their classic Oversized Crewneck. This was the first item I ever purchased from Daily Drills, and probably my most worn! I adore my crewneck because it gives such an effortless look where I don’t feel frumpy or lazy. I wear this crewneck to the gym, to the airport, to work, as a pool coverup, and in every season!
Another caveat I have about purchasing Daily Drills is: it's worth it to purchase the colors you will actually wear. For example, most of my closet is filled with browns and blues; so if I were to purchase a bright red crewneck, it probably wouldn’t get worn and would probably not be worth it. I feel like 90% of the reason I feel like Daily Drills is worth the purchase is because of the colors I chose. Again… it’s all an investment, so invest well!
Here are my unsolicited tips for purchasing from Daily Drills –
Start with a crewneck in a color you will wear often! If you feel like you will wear light pink, then girl buy light pink! But, I would say start with a crew neck because you will never go wrong here, and you can wear it year round.
Don’t feel like you need to purchase on every drop they have! I feel like if you are wise with when you buy the pieces, then it wouldn’t feel like a waste of money because you are intentionally thinking through your purchase.
Don’t feel like you have to buy a set! Similar to the point above, just be intentional with when and how you spend your money. FOr example, I have multiple pieces that are a part of sets, but because I work full time in the office, I did not feel like the matching shorts would be a worthwhile investment to make because they would not have the same amount of wear as the top would.
Look into second hand! 50% of my Daily Drills items I own have been bought second hand, and I don’t regret it one bit!! I feel like this is a more cost-effective way to purchase Daily Drills. Look into Poshmark or Facebook Marketplace groups to see if anyone is selling something you’re interested in. I’m all for a good deal!
Steward your money intentionally & don’t compare! Going back to my main point in all of this, be wise with how you steward your money. Pause before purchasing. Ultimately, our money is the Lord’s, and it should be stewarded wisely. I’m not saying don’t shop nice brands, but I am saying be wise with when and how you intentionally spend. Like I said, it’s an investment! With that, don’t compare yourself or your closet to others. Comparison is the thief of joy!
I hope this was helpful! If you would like a list of items I have invested in, here are All Things Daily Drills! Also, check out my TikTok for how I styled my pieces this week.

Em
