December Edit
Hi friends!
Happy December! There’s a crisp chill in the air here in Dallas, and I am living for the cozy winter moments. As we step into the holiday season and close out the year, I always get a little nostalgic. Writing these monthly edits brings me so much joy, but sometimes I worry that I focus too heavily on the material side of life. With this month’s edit, I wanted to still highlight holiday style staples while shifting some attention inward… let’s call it an internal edit.
December (Internal) Edit
Part of my intention behind this internal edit is to look back on the last eleven months and really acknowledge how I’ve grown — and how I want to grow going into the new year. December is always a time of reflection for me as I think about the ways the Lord has developed me and shaped me to look more like Him.
This month, I’m committing to intentionally reflecting on each month of the year and noting the moments I saw the Lord show up — in my attitude, finances, friendships, marriage, and daily rhythms. It’s easy to overlook the small things, but the details matter.
I’m also spending the next 31 days cultivating habits I can bring with me into the new year — not just surface-level “resolutions.” If you know me, you know movement is a nonnegotiable in my routine. Being active helps my overall well-being, and if you’re looking for an accessible way to incorporate daily movement, let me introduce you to FORM by Sami Clarke! FORM offers pilates, strength training, gym workouts, prenatal/postnatal classes, recipes, and more all in one place. I’ve used it for over a year and truly can’t recommend it enough for creating sustainable wellness habits.
Another part of my internal edit is practicing thoughtful giving — not just giving gifts on Christmas, but giving in small, meaningful ways to people who may not be on your usual list. Giving cultivates the warmest, most selfless joy. This year, I’m planning to make little baskets for my neighbors and their kids (and dogs!) to wish them a Merry Christmas. It doesn’t need to be fancy — thrifted baskets, homemade goodies, and a handwritten card go a long way. Simple, easy, thoughtful.
As I’m writing this, I’m considering making this “internal edit” a little series on social media. If you want to follow along or join me, you can find me on Instagram & TikTok!
Holiday Style Staples
OKAY — now to the festive style fun! December has so many holiday outfit opportunities: Christmas Eve looks, family gatherings, winter weddings, holiday parties… you name it. I can’t wait to style them all!
This month’s color palette:
black + cherry red and navy + deep green with hints of gold.
These combos feel timeless, rich, and instantly festive.
December is the perfect balance of cozy and chic. For all the curled-up-on-the-couch moments with hot cocoa and nostalgic movies, you cannot go wrong with a matching set. Whether it’s a cute pajama set or a luxe loungewear moment, sets make you feel effortlessly put together — even at home.
On the flip side: cocktail attire season. A December staple for me is a black, shiny mini cocktail dress paired with a classy heel and a glass of champagne in hand. I love dresses that have a fun, unexpected detail — feathers, subtle sequins, or a unique texture that feels elevated without being over the top. And to finish off the look? Red or deep green nails. Absolute chef’s kiss for holiday style.
As we wrap up the year, my hope is that this December Edit inspires you to embrace both the internal growth and the external joy this season brings. Style is fun — and I love it! — but this month, I’m holding space for reflection, intentional habits, thoughtful giving, and savoring the small, sacred moments. Here’s to a cozy, festive, meaningful December. I’m so grateful to have you here! If you want to see more content on my internal edit, follow my Instagram & Tiktok!
